They say stop and smell the roses. I say pause and observe the details on a leaf. This could be my video submission for the final assignment on “La ligne”. I’m waiting for the rain to stop so I can walk home. I’ve never bothered about leaves before. They clutter the garden and sweeping is such a chore. But the patterns on this lone leaf, the translucence are beautiful. The camera panning over to the leaf is the rising action, zeroing in on the leaf and focusing on the fine details (les lignes or veins) is the climax; the camera panning away is the falling action.

I think I’ll be filming leaves after all.
